The Interdisciplinary Centre for Gender Studies, Western University of Timisoara, together with GendeRomania has the pleasure to invite you to participate in the seminar "Who’s Afraid of Feminism? - Teaching and Researching Gender in the CEE Region" to take place in Timisoara, May 5-8, 2005, as part of a project supported by the Academic Fellowship Program within the Higher Education Support Program, OSI Budapest.

The project aims at strengthening and developing Gender Studies in the region and particularly the MA program in Gender Studies established by the Interdisciplinary Center for Gender Studies at the Western University of Timisoara. The seminar is envisioned as a framework for debates, sharing personal experiences in regards to teaching Gender Studies, discussing the backlash phenomenon against feminism on one hand and against the introduction and recognition of Gender Studies as an academic subject on the other, discussing curricula and syllabi design, contents and teaching methodology.
